Salsa Social Dance Series with Becca & Ed

Join us for our 9-week Salsa Social Dance Series, focusing on improvisational skills for on-2 Salsa at the intermediate to advanced level. Our series will emphasize musicality, connection, body movement, and styling through practical, but challenging combinations and shines for both follows and leads. By the end, you’ll be a more versatile, stylish, and self-assured dancer.

  • WHERE: Russian Community Center 
  • WHEN: Thursdays from 6:30-8PM starting 02/27/25
  • COST: $175 for 9 classes OR $25 per drop-in class

 

What you'll experience

Partner-Work Technique

Enhance your connection, timing, and lead/follow skills with challenging combinations built to be lead-able on the social dance floor. 

Body Movement & Shines

Dive into shines with a focus on body movement, rhythm, styling, and improvisation for both follows and leads. 

Guided Practice 

Enjoy guided practice sessions to end each class, where you’ll receive personalized feedback from instructors and peers. We'll invite guest artists from our community to join our select practicas so you can apply what you’ve learned with high-level dancers.

Is this class for you?

You're an intermediate to advanced salsa on-2 dancer, and you probably have 2 years of experience or more. If you’re unsure about your level, join us for a class and we can assess if this series is the right fit.

About your teachers

Becca Jakubson

Becca Jakubson

Becca (she/her) is a teacher, artist, performer, and choreographer. She has over 20 years of experience coaching, teaching, performing, and competing in dance and figure skating.

Her experience includes teaching salsa, bachata, cha cha, fusion, heels. and body movement classes in Seattle for over 8 years. Currently, she is a founder of BGC Dance.

Ed K-Z

Ed K-Z

With over 15 years experience salsa dancing and teaching, Ed specializes in developing social dance skills and building community through educational programming.

He served as Director of USC Take the Lead and Dorsey High's Ballroom program in Los Angeles for 4 years and is now an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University.
