Becca Jakubson
Founder & Artistic Director
Her mission is to create a space for Latin dancers to deeply understand the roots and technique of dance to empower each dancer to intentionally make choices in their movement.
Her experience includes teaching salsa, bachata, fusion, and fitness classes in Seattle for over 8 years at Westlake Dance Center, Baila District, Studio Azul, Sueños de Salsa, and Salsaymotion. She is founder, director, and choreographer for BGC Dance, a Latin fusion dance company and community, which is entering its 7th season with over 35 dancers and 3 teams. She was also a member of Sabrosa Pro, a professional Latin fusion dance team that performed and competed across the west coast and internationally.

Jess Hwang

Jessica’s dance background includes training with ZTHEORY Academy for 3 seasons, and over 20 combined years of training across salsa, bachata, heels, Bhangra, and ballet. Currently, they are a dancer in Purple Lemonade, a Seattle-based queer performance collective rooted in community, celebration, and Black and Brown artistry. Jessica is excited to now empower future dancers by fostering a supportive rehearsal space and encouraging them to own the spotlight with their personal artistry.

Rhya Milici
Artistic Advisor
Rhya Milici (she/her) is the creative force behind many BGC pieces, serving as a co-choreographer, costume, and artistic advisor throughout the seasons. Her vision, expertise, and dedication shape the look and feel of BGC’s performances, bringing each piece to life with precision and artistry.
As our right hand, Rhya is an essential part of BGC—simply put, we couldn’t do it without her.

Tanya Liu
Artistic Advisor
Tanya Liu (she/her) has been a cornerstone of BGC since the beginning, performing with BGC Dance Company for seven powerful seasons and leading BGC Dance Expression from its inception. As the founding director of Expression, she guided the team through three dynamic seasons of growth, artistry, and community. Though she has recently relocated and stepped back from her role as director, Tanya continues to shape the heart of BGC as an artistic advisor—bringing her deep experience, choreographic eye, and unwavering commitment to storytelling, technique, and connection.
